1993 – itec is founded
Development and production of tailor-made assembly, testing and welding machines for the communications and electrical industry: that was the objective of Rudolf Illner and Uwe Wilkens, when they founded itec 1993 as a company for process automation and measurement engineering.
1995 – Integration of the first laser source
in an automation project set a significant milestone in the history of itec. Since then, lasers have been used in almost all engineering projects. In 1998 itec launched its first standard laser portal on a granite base with precision axes driven by a linear induction motor.
2001 – itec Automation & Laser AG
The company has enjoyed steady growth, based on the consistent integration of laser technology in mechanical engineering, to become a constant factor in laser-based automation. As a result the company structure was changed to itec Automation & Laser AG in 2001.
2007 – Corporate headquarters in Berlin-Rudow
The laser services division also enjoyed steady growth, with demand increasing in all fields – and with it the need for new premises. In 2007 all departments were united under one roof in the new premises in Berlin-Rudow, fully equipped to meet the very latest requirements.
Today itec represents high-quality parts from the itec laser job shop, leading-edge laser systems and highly specialised units, both nationally and internationally.
